Aperson par excellence! It’s very difficult to pen down anything for such a great personality. Memories, attributes and physical creations provide plenty of support for what our dear friend did in his life and how he made us feel! A true friend is never truly gone… because true friends are never apart. The soul lives in the memories of those who loved them. I know we all will always remember Dr. Mohapatra even though he’s no longer here with us. Let’s make sure he’s never forgotten.
We were in association when I was the Mayor of Ahmedabad city. Even after I completed my tenure as Mayor, we were in constant touch and used to share personal and professional achievements. Thereafter, when Dr. Mohapatra shifted to Delhi to take charge of his new responsibility till his last moment, we used to chat and remember the good old times. It hardly took any time for us to take our friendship a step further as family friends! We shared very good family relations and he never missed out in enquiring about our good health and progress at all times.
Dr. Mohapatra, A true Art Lover, always appreciated my singing talent and used to say that it’s immensely commendable that despite my existing duties as a politician, I am able to sing so well. He always viewed my musical rendition and never missed to laud the video along with a motivational comment. An utterly dedicated and honest person with a high level of integrity, he was always a non controversial officer due to his grounded nature. His balancing capacity between the administration and elected wing helped a lot for the development of our State.
He was a true administrator who led by example, a person who was apt in crisis management, always positive and full of inspiration,very proactive and took initiative in all developmental matters assigned to him at all times! Always adaptive to paradigm shift, his curiosity for any new ideas and technology was incredible! It’s a well-known fact that despite being an IAS officer, Dr. Guruprasad Mohapatra was devoid of any ego! There is no element of doubt that he had always discharged his duties with utmost diligence, incisive thinking and impeccable loyalty!
It’s hard to believe and accept that Dr. Guruprasad Mohapatra has left us so soon!! “An Eternal Memory until we meet again”….those special memories of you will always make me smile, if only I could have you back, for just a while. Then we could sit and talk again just like we used to do. You always meant so much to me, and always will do too. The fact that you’re no longer here, will always cause me pain but you’re forever in my heart, until we meet again……..My family joins me in conveying our heartfelt prayers for your well being wherever you are !
